I met Robie Greenslade when I was 16 (he was 17), I was going to art school at the time and I needed a model for my photography project. He lived in the western suburbs of Sydney, as did I and so we met on the train to travel to the studio together.Robie was the most amazing, influential, creative, beautiful human being. I loved him instantly! He was such a strong, confident person. We lived in a place that was very homophobic and narrow minded at the time, but he was not afraid to express himself in whatever way he chose to and often managed to win people over with his flamboyant style, wild sense of humour and confidence.Robie called everyone “Girlfriend” no matter who you were, which was often amusing when he was talking to some big tough guy. He lived a very full and exciting life during his 29 years on this planet. Whenever you were with him it was always an adventure. He was such a free spirit! We lost him in 1996. He will never be forgotten! He lives in our hearts forever. We love you Robie Greenslade (Girlfriend) ❤️
